Spectrum Collections are well known for their beautiful and extremely photogenic makeup brushes, especially with beauty bloggers on Instagram and Twitter. Their brushes are not only perfect for Instagram photos, but the soft, cruelty-free bristles mean they’re also great for makeup application. I only recently found out that the brand was started just down the road from me, in Barry, by two sisters, Sophie and Hannah. Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to their first event in Wales and I had such a great time!
The Spotlight on Spectrum Event
The whole evening was completely on brand and the attention to detail was amazing, from the venue to the decor and the drinks and food! Amy and I arrived at the venue, Tramshed Tech in Cardiff, and were greeted at the door with a glass of sparkly rose gold bubbly.
We walked around, exploring the venue and taking loads of photos, as it was so pretty. There was the Spectrum brush sets positioned around the room and also amazing flower displays by Urban Flower Studio. Candy Kittens were also there providing really tasty sweets (the sour watermelon are my fav!).
Sophie did the makeup with Sophie and Hannah from Spectrum sat on the stage answering any questions. Sophie used the Spectrum 35 Piece Holy Grail Brush Set, with a whole range of cruelty-free makeup brands. I learned a lot from the makeup demo, not only about how to apply makeup, but which brushes are best for each product and a lot about Spectrum as a brand.
Once the live makeup demo was over, we were treated to some amazing cocktails from Dirty Martini, which were created especially for the event. I’m not sure exactly what was in them, but they looked so pretty with a flower on the top and gold glitter around the rim of the glass.
There was also a vegan buffet by Milgi. I’ve been to Migli before, so I knew the food was going to be good and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The roasted cauliflower was amazing and I loved the avocado dressing (no surprise there!).
Nails Inc were also there, with a station where you could get your nails done. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to have mine done.
The Goody Bag
As we were leaving, we were given a goody bag, which contained some amazing stuff! Not only did we receive a set of four Spectrum brushes, but loads of other makeup and beauty bits.
Altogether, there was, a really pretty pink rose from Urban Flower Studio, a phone power bank from Dirty Martini, Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads, a Miss Patisserie bath melt, a Me Me Me highlighter, a Nails Inc nail varnish and a vegan gingerbread cookie from Cwtch Cookies.
Thank you so much to Spectrum Collections for an amazing night and Lowri for inviting me. I can’t wait to see what Spectrum bring out next!
