Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to this years Lush winter blogger event and I was so excited to go. I’ve always been a big fan of Lush, but I usually remain loyal to the same few products that I know and love, so I was excited to try out some new things that I wouldn’t normally (and also to stock up on Snow Fairy!).
The event was held in my local store, Cardiff – somewhere I visit frequently and I went to the event with Amy, who, like me, loves all things Lush. This will actually be the last Winter blogger event they will be having in this store, as Lush will be moving to bigger premises in the City Centre at the beginning of December. This new location will also have a spa, which is pretty exciting!
We were greeted at the door by the staff, who, as usual, were incredibly friendly and outgoing and really made the evening a lot more fun. We were given drinks and there was a range of tasty treats to eat, which were supplied by Cafe Atma, a vegetarian cafe located in the centre of Cardiff.
One of the staff, Megan, showed Amy and I around the products in the store, taking into account all our likes and dislikes, as well as our Snow Fairy obsession. She was extremely helpful and I learnt about a lot of new products, some of which I’m sure will become new favourites!
The first products we were shown were body lotions and dusting powders. I’d never tried any of the dusting powders before, so Megan massaged some Sleepy body lotion into my arm. Then to pick up the excess moisture from the lotion, added some Mr Sandman dusting powder, which left me really sparkly and smelling great. Both products contain lavender oil and Tonka Absolute, so complimented each other perfectly.
We were then shown shower gels, bath bombs, body conditioners and bubble bars from the Christmas and Halloween ranges. A lot of the new products are now self-preserving, which means that they last a lot longer compared to previous ranges, which is perfect for anyone wanting to stock up on Christmas scents for the year. They are a slightly thicker texture, but still great products and scents as before.
There were four Christmas shower gels that we tried, Lord of Misrule, Bubbly, Snow Fairy and Rose Jam. I loved Lord of Misrule with it’s peppery and also sweet scent, but I think my favourite had to be Bubbly. Inspired by bucks fizz (one of my favourite Christmas drinks!), Bubbly has an uplifting scent of orange oil and grape juice.
Each product that I saw was added to the shopping list in my head and I ended up spending slightly more than I had planned. My next post will be a Lush haul, showing all the products I bought.
As well as the items I purchased, we were also given goody bags as we left. I was really chuffed with mine, as I had a bottle of Bubbly shower gel, which I’ve already started using. I also received the Santa Baby lip tint and the Butterbear Bath bomb. Santa Baby is a lip tint in a bright red colour. It’s pretty pigmented for a lip tint and lasts for ages, bonus! Butterbear is a moisturising and calming bath bomb with Cocoa butter to leave your skin feeling super soft.
Thank you so much to Lush for a great evening, I had a lot of fun and discovered some great products. I can’t wait to visit the spa once it’s open!
Also, please give me a follow on Instagram, I post daily so you can always see what I’m up to!
